He’s soft-spoken and kind of shy in person but stick him on a wall in a red spandex suit or on the back of a racehorse and he’s a superhero! Spider-Man Tobey Maguire took a break from shooting Spidey 2 in Los Angeles to travel to the classic and beautiful Santa Anita racetrack in Arcadia, California where he joined us to talk about his role as a down-on-his-luck jockey in the new film Seabiscuit based on a best-selling book by Laura Hillenbrand. In case your grandpa or other family member hasn’t told you, Seabiscuit was a real race horse in the Depression era 1930’s. He was a small, not really beautiful horse who was losing until red-haired jockey Red Pollard hopped on his back. Then, he went on to win big and win the heart of the nation.
